Green Flag Judging 2008
The judges were viewing the park on the 14th of May. Staff made an early start to ensure it was looking at it's best for their visit. The newly cleaned monuments looked impressive and the park overall was in tip top shape. We shall have to wait and see what the outcome is. As soon as we know, it will be announced on this site.
Alterations to the lower play area.
Visitors may notice some work being done in the recently completed play area. After a number of parents pointed out that the slide was not really suitable for younger children, these comments have been acted upon and a more "small person" friendly slide is being installed.
BMX Bandits Track.
The track redevelopment is due to start on Monday 19th May 2008. It is anticipated that the work will take approx 10 weeks, which (hopefully) means the track will reopen in time for the summer holidays. For more detailed information on this, please use the link available on the Links page.
Cliffe Road Play area
The refurbishments have almost been completed. The area has been re-seeded and will be opened as soon as the new grass is ready for traffic.
Grass Maze
Have you seen the unusual mowing job on the area next to the pond. This is Bob's Amazing Maze. Follow it to Bob's Scots Pine tree.
Vandalism in play area. - 6th September 2007
Over the Bank holiday weekend (August), the climbing frame was set alight. Damage has been done to part of the structure. Repairs are to be made as soon as possible. Anyone with information should contact the police or this group.
Green Flag Status. - 6th September 2007
The park has achieved the standard required to obtain this award. Two flagpoles are to be erected, one at the Bolton Road entrance and one at the Cliffe Road entrance.
2008 Calendar. - 6th September 2007
We are hoping to produce this by mid/late October. It will be smaller (A5) in size and therefore easier to post to family and friends. We also hope not to repeat last year's fiasco with missing dates! A different printing company was called for and we have stressed that the dates must be clearer.
New benches and where to put them - 11 March 2007
If you have any suggestions about the positioning of some new benches, please let us know. There are 10 to be sited around the park and ideas are welcome. Please be specific, as this will ensure they end up in the right places.
